Over 3,000 signboards in the Palace Museum will be standardized before May 1, the Beijing Daily reported.
Currently, the signboards in the Palace Museum that give directions, introduce background information and provide warnings use a variety of shapes, colors and fonts. Shan Jixiang, curator of the museum, said that the renovations will improve the atmosphere of the Palace Museum.
Shan added that they will follow the example of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris by opening their renovation sites so that the public can see restoration and repair work up close while touring the museum.
