One miner died while 21 others were rescued after a coal mine accident on Tuesday in east China's Anhui province, said Huainan Co., Ltd., a state-owned enterprise that runs the mine.
At around 7:20 p.m., 20 miners were rescued from the mine while another one was found dead, the statement said. One miner had been rescued at 2 p.m.
A roof collapsed at the mine in Huainan city at 9:55 a.m. when the 22 miners were working underground, according to Rui Jianan, the mine's deputy head.
