The Haixi prefecture bureau of public security in Qinghai province has set up a special task force to investigate a police officer who reportedly asked suspects involved in his cases to arrange erotic services for him, Nanjing Daily reported.

He Jun, the police officer from Tianjun county under the administration of Haixi, was named by local lawyer Zhou Ze on Jan 12.

Zhou claimed that He twice asked a suspect in a case to arrange sexual services at local karaoke bars in Lanzhou, capital of neighboring Gansu province.

The suspect, whom He detained, was released on bail pending trial.

Zhou provided a picture in which He and a woman could be seen singing at a karaoke bar.

Zhou said that He had also asked the family members of another suspect, surnamed Gong, who was involved in a case to pay him 10,000 yuan ($1,620) when he arrived at the man's home to detain him late last year.

The Haixi security bureau said it will investigate the case and make its findings public.
