China's State Council Information Office has held a press conference, unveiling measures and efforts to ensure food safety during the upcoming Spring Festival.
The Chinese Ministry of Agriculture said a series of measures would be taken to ensure the safety of agricultural products, including more rigorous checks and cracking down on illegal activities. An official from the China's State Food and Drug Administration said coordinated efforts will be made among departments, while food safety awareness will be boosted among the public.
It said the production process of baby milk powder will also be traced fully in relevant enterprises. The official also noted that restaurants will be checked rigorously to prevent food safety incidents.
