Top Chinese political advisor Yu Zhengsheng on Thursday called for more effort in the continued fight against corruption.
Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made the remarks at a meeting held by leading Party officials with the National Committee of the CPPCC.
The meeting was held after President Xi Jinping on Tuesday stressed zero tolerance of graft and promised to seriously punish every corrupt official caught.
The anti-corruption speech by Xi revealed the resolve of the Communist Party of China to assert discipline and punish corrupt officials, Yu noted.
Yu called on officials to strengthen their political awareness, abide by rules and advance the anti-corruption drive, saying the CPPCC National Committee will draw up and implement detailed plans in this regard.
