The Shenzhen Intermediate People's Procuratorate recently approved the arrest of Liu Shengfa, former executive deputy mayor of Jieyang, Guangdong province, Southern Metropolis Daily reported.
Liu, also a member of the standing committee of the Jieyang Committee of the Communist Party of China, was previously put under investigation by the Guangdong Provincial Party Commission of Discipline Inspection for serious violation of Party disciplines and State laws.
Liu, born in 1962, is the third senior Party and government official to be sacked in Jieyang in the past year.
Last year, Chen Hongping, former Party chief of Jieyang, and Zheng Songbiao, former deputy mayor of Jieyang, were expelled from the Party and dismissed from their public posts for accepting large sums in bribes.
