SW China scenic spot mountain on fire

A fire broke out at the foot of a mountain in the tourist city of Lijiang in southwest China's Yunnan province on Sunday afternoon, local authorities said.

The fire occurred under a cable way in the Lion Mountain in Ninglang county, near the scenic spot of Lugu Lake. No casualties have been reported. The authorities said that work was still underway to put out the fire.

More than 200 fire fighters as well as about 500 locals were mobilized to put out the blaze. The cause of the fire was still under investigation.
