A Chinese Tibetan cultural exchange delegation recently paid a visit to Canada's Calgary and Vancouver. Three-day meetings were held between the delegation and local students, scholars and sinologists.
In western Canada's Calgary, they spoke about the development in Tibet and exchanged views with local students. The head of the delegation, Lian Xiangmin also gave an overview about China's ethnic composition and ethnic policy.
The delegation then met with representatives of overseas Chinese in Vancouver. Before their tour in Canada, the delegation visited the US and held a press conference at Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles. Lian said he hoped more such cultural exchanges would take place to boost international understanding of Tibet.
