An accurate poverty relief information system will be established to better manage poverty reduction measures, according to a new guideline from the central authorities published on Saturday.
Under this system, each poor village and family will have their own file to identify poverty relief targets. It will connect poverty reduction and development with the minimum living standard security system in rural areas. Detailed poverty relief measures should be joined with poverty identifications, according the guideline.
In-depth analysis will be conducted on individual poverty cases, which will help implement targeted measures for each family.
Liu Yongfu, head of the State Council's poverty alleviation office, vowed to establish a strict managing system to ensure poverty-relief fund allocations for the poor. A feasibility study on poverty-relief funds information disclosure system above the county level is on the way, People's Daily reported.
The guideline also specified a number of prominent problems that should be solved in poor regions, including village-level roads, drinking water safety, the electricity supply, renovation of run-down houses, education and health care.
