Metro smoker detained

A smoker has been slapped with 10 days of administrative detention for beating up a 74-year-old man who tried to stop him from smoking in a subway station on metro Line 3, local media reported Monday.

The victim approached the smoker on an escalator at Caoyang Road Station last Wednesday. When he asked the smoker to put out his cigarette, the smoker got angry, threw the older man to the floor and repeatedly struck him. The victim suffered multiple bruises.
