Starting from Jan 27, Chinese wanting to travel to France can get their visa in 48-hours. This is part of celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Sino-French diplomatic ties.
In the past Chinese tourists destined for France had to wait 10 working days for their travel documents to be processed. In recent years, many other countries wanting to attract Chinese tourists and investors, have eased their visa procedures for Chinese travelers, including Britain, the United States, New Zealand, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Statistics show more than 97.3 million overseas trips were made by Chinese in 2013, making up for nearly 10 percent of international travel.
