An official in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, has been suspended from his post for disciplinary violation, Oriental Morning Post reported on Wednesday.
Zhang Chuihua was removed as deputy director of the Hangzhou city government office, the disciplinary authority said.
Zhang allegedly flirted with various women online and met them in hotels, the report said.
A netizen posted on online forums that Zhang checked into business hotels in the city more than 100 times between 2010 and 2013, and included Zhang's ID information and check-in records, the report said.
The local disciplinary authority did not confirm the online posts, but said Zhang has been under investigation for a violation related to his lifestyle, according to the report.
The city government website said Zhang was born in April 1962 and his major work was to cope with government affairs and documents, the report added.
