A Chinese fishing boat registered in Zhejiang province was seized by Japanese authorities Thursday morning for illegal fishing in Japanese-administered waters, an official from the Chinese Consulate-General in Fukuoka confirmed with the Global Times.
The boat was released Thursday night, according to the consulate.
Nine fishermen were reported on boat, which was said to hold valid working permits but was seized on the charge of "untrue work log," the Xinhua News Agency reported.
