Motorcade chooses ice day for a white wedding on Jiangsu highway

A bride en route to her wedding in Jiangsu province on Wednesday nearly didn't make it down the aisle after the motorcade she would take became involved in a multiple-vehicle pileup on an icy highway.

Zhenjiang traffic police urged motorists to reduce their speed after snow began falling in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. Determined not to flake out on her big day, the bride's motorcade proceeded along the Yangzhou-Liyang Highway. The luckiest escape of the day occurred when the motorcade's first white Cadillac sedan sped past warning signs of an accident at 100 kilometers per hour on the Yangzhou-bound lanes and contributed to the six-car pileup.

"The car spun out of control, causing five other cars following it to all be rear-ended. The cars were badly damaged, but fortunately no one was injured," a police officer said.
