China's meteorological authority on Saturday issued a blue alert for blizzards that will sweep through the country's central and southern regions.
From Saturday evening to Sunday evening, heavy snow will hit parts of Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi and Zhejiang, with some regions receiving 5 to 8 cm, the National Meteorological Center said.
The blizzards will be accompanied by icy roads in some regions, while parts of Guizhou, Hunan and Jiangxi will experience freezing rain.
The center advised people to be careful on slippery icy roads.
China's meteorological disaster alerts are categorized as blue, yellow, orange and red in order of increasing severity.
