China's railway police said on Monday that they have captured 92 ticket scalpers and busted 34 illegal ticket-trafficking dens during the ongoing Spring Festival travel rush.
A total of 82 ticket scalping cases have been solved and more than two kg of drugs has been seized, according to a statement from China's railway police, adding that 323 suspects who were at large have been captured.
Railway police across the country have prevented 110,000 dangerous articles from being taken on trains, it added.
China's railway police have tightened security checks to ensure safe journeys for travelers during the 40-day travel rush that started in mid-January.
The Spring Festival, or lunar new year, is China's most important traditional holiday for family reunions. The holiday's drastic surge in travelers puts great pressure on the country's road, rail and air transportation systems.
