WeChat for hospitals

Twenty-one municipal hospitals will set up their own WeChat accounts, allowing patients to make reservations and view results of medical exams, the Beijing Morning Post reported.

The nine hospitals that already have WeChat accounts include Tongren Hospital, Chao-yang Hospital and Beijing Cancer Hospital.

Independent WeChat accounts have been set up by departments of other hospitals, eg. the urological department of Beijing Ditan Hospital.

The WeChat platforms provide patients with access to physician profiles, general hospital information, and health and medical information.

For example, on the WeChat account of the Beijing Cancer Hospital, users will be able to check their lab reports by entering their patient ID and a PIN number.
