Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has met with John Kerry in Beijing on Friday.

Wang Yi recalled President Xi Jinping's Annenberg Estate meeting last June, saying the decision to build a new type of great-power relations will provide direction for the long-term development of China-US relations. He added that the two sides will cooperate with each other to implement the common consensus between the two leaders and enhance all levels of dialogue to coincide with the 35th anniversary of the establishment of Sino-US diplomatic relations.

Kerry said that he hoped the two sides could enhance communication and cooperation to promote progress on the new type of US-China ties. Kerry arrived in Beijing on Friday morning and was met by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People. China is the second leg of Kerry's six-day Asia tour, which started on Thursday in South Korea. After his trip to China, he will visit Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates.
