The start of the new school semester on February 17 is expected to cause traffic congestion, especially during rush hour periods. The Beijing Traffic Management Bureau recommends that drivers plan alternate routes to bypass the most problematic areas, qianlong.com reported.

The most congested areas are expected to include Zhongguancun Dajie, Baofusi Bridge (North Fourth Ring Road), and Hangtian Bridge (West Third Ring Road) in Haidian district, as well as Guangqumen Bridge in Chaoyang district. Traffic conditions around Beijing West Railway Station are also expected to cause delays. Commuters are advised to take public transportation to alleviate the pressure on surface streets.
