21 expressways in four Chinese provinces have been temporarily closed due to snowstorms and freezing rain, and forecasters say a new round of rain and snow will affect major parts of China from Monday.
China's central weather bureau has kept up its blizzard warning, with heavy snow to hit the central provinces of Henan and Hubei in the next 24 hours. Snow is expected to reach 8 centimeters in some areas and residents are advised to take care when going outside.
The eastern part of China will also see heavy rainfall and snow. The extreme weather has added more pressure to the transport network during the post-holiday travel peak.
