Doctor dies after attack by patient

A doctor in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang province was killed on Monday by a patient who was unsatisfied with treatment of his nose condition.

The 18-year-old suspect, Qi Hongsheng, barged into Sun Dongtao's room in North Steel Hospital when Sun was seeing other patients,

beating Sun in the head repeatedly with an iron bar. The doctor, 45, died later the same day.

Police arrested Qi at the scene.

Medical workers nationwide have felt vulnerable after a spate of similar incidents in recent years.
