An alleged drug dealer who received 260,000 yuan ($42,740) in fake cash called police immediately, leading to two drug gangs being arrested.

Zhang Dongyu's alleged drug-trafficking ended on January 28 in Changchun, Jilin province. He allegedly sold 2.2 kilograms of methamphetamines, worth more than 260,000 yuan, to Li Ping. After testing the drug, Li went to a bank with Zhang, police said, emerging with a bag of cash.

Zhang went to deposit the cash, only to be told by a bank clerk the notes were counterfeit. The bank told Zhang to call police. If he did not, they would. Shocked and furious, Zhang called.

Police arrested Zhang and 10 other suspects including Li, confiscating 2.2 kilograms of methamphetamine, 260,000 yuan in fake cash and 40,000 yuan genuine money.

Police in Zhang's home city of Chengdu, Sichuan province, arrested four of Zhang's alleged accomplices and confiscated 8.4 kilograms of methamphetamines and drug equipment.
