The largest annual population migration on earth has come to an end in China. During the past 40-day travel period, more than 3.6 billion trips were made.
To break down the number about 3.3 billion trips were made on the road, an increase of six percent from last year. Meanwhile, more than 260 million journeys were made by the railway system, a rise of twelve percent compared with the same period last year. During the travel rush, China's aviation sector saw more than 44 million trips, an increase of nearly 16 percent, while 42 million trips were made by boat.
