A 5.2-kilometer-long green path designed for the city's walkers, joggers and cyclists will be built around the East Second Ring Road before August of this year, the Beijing Daily reported.
According to the Virescence Bureau of Chaoyang district, green landscapes that include courtyards and pavilions will be constructed along the path, which is a part of the city's "slow-moving system."
The path is divided into two parts. The northern part stretches from Dongsi Shitiao to Dongbianmen, and the southern part stretches from Guangqumen Bridge to Zuoanmen Bridge. The government also plans to renovate other landscapes around the Second Ring Road to provide residents more spaces for leisure and recreation.
