Unidentified gunmen abducted a Filipino-Chinese college student Thursday night in the southern Philippine province of Zamboanga del Sur, police said Friday.
Ariel Huesca, spokesman of Police Regional Office 9, identified the latest abduction victim as Stephen Mago Tan, 19, a civilian engineering student of Southern Mindanao College in Pagadian City.
The abduction of Tan have brought to 11 abducted victims still captive by gunmen in Western Mindanao, according to police and military authorities.
Huesca said the victim was forcibly seized past 9 p.m. Thursday by gunmen and was dragged into a waiting service utility vehicle that sped towards unknown direction.
Huesca said police forces in Pagadian City were investigating the latest kidnapping case and launched a hot pursuit operation for the recovery of the victim.
