China will test the ability of its first domestically made parafoil plane in tackling recurring smog this month, a Chinese plane manufacturer said on Tuesday.
The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with gliding parachute is manufactured by a subsidiary of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China and will perform its first test in reducing fog in airports or ports after discussion by industry experts.
The new plane has flexible wings with an aerodynamic structure, which makes it easier to control and able to carry three times the cargo weight of common planes, according to Ma Yongsheng, CEO of the company.
It also enjoys longer, smoother and safer flights and can be widely used to conduct agricultural seeding, emergency rescue and other tasks, Ma added.
