Measles cases in Beijing have been on the rise since Spring Festival, according to data from the Beijing Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Beijing Daily reported.

A total of 149 measles cases have been reported thus far in 2014; most of the patients are adults. CDC warns that measles is an acute respiratory infectious disease that can lead to serious complications. All Beijing residents, especially children, should be vaccinated against the disease. Anybody experiencing symptoms of fever, cough and a red rash should go to the hospital in a timely fashion.
