Students from migrant families who are qualified to participate in the gaokao (college entrance exam) in Beijing this year can also apply for vocational and technical academies, the Beijing Daily reported.
According to the Beijing Education Examination Authority, a total of 26 vocational academies, including Beijing Health Vocational College and Beijing Professional Business Institute, will hold independent exams to recruit 7,105 students. The exams, to be scheduled starting March 29, will consist of written exams and face-to-face interviews. Applicants who fail the exam can continue to apply for universities.
