During the ongoing two sessions, Shan Jixiang, the curator of the Palace Museum, has submitted proposals concerning the safety of the museum, the Xinmin Evening News reported.
Shan has proposed moving the administrative office and parking lot out of the Forbidden City for security reasons. "With cars parked inside the red walls, if there were to be a car explosion, the results would be disastrous," he said.
He also proposed conducting research on fire safety equipment that would be suitable for the museum and establishing a professional security team. The proposals will be reviewed during the meeting.
