Teenager commits suicide at school

A 16-year-old senior middle school student in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, committed suicide by jumping from a school building on Thursday, Southern Metropolis Daily reported on Friday.

The student, surnamed Li, jumped from the 6th floor of a building at noon on Thursday and police have ruled out homicide. According to one of Li's classmates, surnamed Wang, Li had been criticized during an exam held that morning by a teacher who thought Li was cheating. Li later jumped from the building.

An investigation is underway by police, who have not confirmed the reason for the suicide.
