Teen becomes murder suspect to join gang

A boy, 14, killed a female shop owner in a village in Guangdong province in order to become a member of the underworld, Information Times reported.

The boy and another 14-year-old with similar aspirations were school dropouts in a village in Chonghua.

Hoping to join gangsters in Dongguan, Guangdong, the duo plotted to kill the shop owner, who kept her shop alone, in order to impress the gangsters so that they might be qualified to become gang members.

On the way to the shop one day in late December, one boy left suddenly to attend to something urgent. The other boy went to the shop alone and stabbed the owner in the neck several times.

He fled the scene with several cartons of cigarettes and several hundred yuan.

Both boys were arrested recently on suspicion of robbery.
