Smog returns to Beijing

A new bout of smog smothered Beijing on Monday, with the city's Air Quality Index (AQI) standing at 294 by 2:30 pm, indicating serious air pollution.

The Beijing Environmental Monitoring Center said the smog is likely to persist in the coming days, as the weather in the following days will not help disperse it.
