An Australian air force P-3 Orion plane spotted two suspicious objects in the search area for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, the Australia Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) said on Monday. [Special coverage]
HMAS Success is on scene and is attempting to locate the objects in the southern Indian Ocean area, some 2,500 km southwest of Perth, Australia, according to a AMSA Twitter post.
The crew on board the Orion reported seeing two objects -- the first a grey or green circular objects and the second an orange rectangular object.
The objects spotted by the Australian plane are separate to the objects reported by the Chinese Ilyushin IL-76 to AMSA earlier Monday.
But the US Navy P-8 Poseidon was unable to relocate the objects reported by the Chinese aircraft.
