Pricey tickets

According to a survey by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics and the Beijing branch of China's National Bureau of Statistics, average prices for performance venues are four to eight times higher than the prices that people expected, the Beijing Evening News reported.

The expected price for performances was about 65 yuan ($10.46) per ticket, but the average ticket at multifunctional comprehensive theaters such as the National Center for the Performing Arts is 260 yuan, while the average ticket price in venues such as Great Hall of the People is 523 yuan.

The expected ticket price for tourist spots is about 40 yuan while sites such as Badaling Wildlife Park charge for over 100 yuan for a single ticket.
