Beijing police have launched an investigation of Kangzhongle TCM Treatment Center on suspicions that the center was providing sex service in the name of TCM, the Beijing News reported.
Geng Fuzeng, the manager of the center, admitted that he had been reeducated through labor for providing shelter to prostitutes. Three female have been taken to the police station. One claimed to have only worked there a couple of days, and decided to leave when she saw that the center's services included "genital massage."
According to a notice published by the Ministry of Health, TCM treatments such as massage, scraping therapy and cupping therapy can only be performed in licensed medical institutions.
