Australian officials leading the search for Flight MH370 in the southern Indian Ocean say ten military planes and ten ships will assist in Tuesday's search for the missing plane. [Special coverage]
The Joint Agency Coordination Center in Perth says seven countries are taking part in the air search, with a civil aircraft providing communications relay. Among the air teams is a Chinese Ilyushin IL-76 jet, which took off from Perth on Tuesday morning. Ten ships from Australia and China have been tasked to search in four separate areas.
Australia's naval ship Ocean Shield left port on Monday night, carrying a US black box locator. Bad weather has been forecast in the area on Tuesday, including low visibility and possible thunderstorms.
