Professor catches, punches thief after cross-campus chase

A 45-year-old professor in Xiamen, Fujian province gave a thief a lesson he'll never forget after he chased the thief across campus and punched him twice on April 1.

Huang Lisheng, an associate professor at Xiamen University, sprang into action after a female student rushed over and pointed to the suspect already fleeing the scene.

Unfortunately for the bag snatcher, Huang is a local marathon champion. After a 400-meter sprint across the campus tennis courts, Huang easily caught the winded thief near the Biology building.

While loudly denying the accusations against him, the thief then attempted to beat Huang. The professor then gave him some extra marks - with a couple of punches to the face.

The thief quickly surrendered and was later detained by local police.
