The theme of this year's Boao forum is "Asia's New Future: Identifying New Growth Drivers". The two events, named "The Future of Hong Kong as an International Financial Centre" and "Hong Kong's Opportunities and Challenges in the Process of RMB Internationalization" will focus on the financial topics.
Hong Kong Chief Executive CY Leung will leave for Hainan Province on April 9 to attend the annual conference. "This is the first time that the Annual Conference is holding two events to feature the financial development of Hong Kong to highlight the huge development potential of the city's financial sector and its unique role in the financial reform of the Mainland," The city's government said.
On April 10, Leung will attend the Opening Plenary in the morning and attend the discussion session on Hong Kong's role as an international financial centre in the afternoon. Leung will deliver a keynote speech at the Hong Kong Dinner Session in the evening.
