China's top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng met with visiting Namibian Prime Minister Hage Geingob in Beijing on Tuesday.
Calling Namibia an all-weather friend of China, Yu said the two countries and their peoples had been understanding, supporting and helping each other over the years.
He called on both sides to implement the consensus that Geingob had reached with Chinese leaders during his ongoing China trip, to cultivate stronger ties.
Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), pledged to facilitate closer personnel exchanges between the CPPCC and Namibia, strengthen cooperation in developing democracy and the rule of law, and improving people's livelihood.
Considering China a sincere and reliable friend, Geingob appreciated China's support for Namibia's independence and economic development.
The Namibian government and people expect to further cement win-win cooperation with China, he added.
Chinese President Xi Jinping also met with Geingob on Tuesday.
Invited by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, Geingob is in China for an official visit and the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2014 scheduled in south China's Hainan Province from April 8 to 11.
