China displayed another solid performance to beat the United Arab Emirates 25-22, 28-26, 25-15 in the 2014 Asian Club Men's Volleyball championship at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay city, Philippines.
Inspired their ego-boosting conquest of Chinese Taipei, the Chinese team completely outclassed the United Arab Emirates, one of six teams from the Middle East, in more than one hour and solidified their title campaign in the 16-team tournament sanctioned by Asian Volleyball Confederation.
Wang Chen and Wijismans Wout each collected 10 points and Liang Chunglong, Yang Fan and Li Runming contributed 5 points apiece.
Coach Li Mu rested Wout and Frederic Winters, fielded an all-Chinese crew after China taking the first two sets. His local crew didn't disappoint him and finished the job with plenty to spare.
Lebanon matched China's double win by crushing Japan in a thrilling five-setter (25-22, 28-30, 23-25, 25-23, 15-6).
Brazilian Bruno Furtado spiked 29 points for the Lebanese, the biggest thus far by a player in a single game.
