China closed out the elimination round of the 2014 Asian Club Men's Volleyball Saturday by crushing Papua New Guinea as expected in straight sets, 25-12, 25-17, 25-20, at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City, Philippines.

Unbeaten after two games and already qualified to the quarterfinals, the Chinese team simply dominated the one hour contest and confirmed their status as strong title contender in the annual competition which featured 16 teams.

"We played to win to keep our clean record. We prepared this team for one week," said China's head coach Li Mu.

Li did not use Wijismans Wout, a Belgian naturalized Italian citizen, and Frederic Winters, to allow his local crew to finish the demolition job.

Zhang Binglong spiked 14 points, recorded five blocks and five service aces in a splendid performance. Wang Zhen and Shan Qingtao added 12 points for China.

Meanwhile, the Hong Kong team lost to powerhouse Qatar and closed the elimination with 0-4 card in Pool "C".
