An ongoing campaign against online pornography will conduct thorough checks on online literature, videos and application store websites, authorities said on Friday.
Moreover, practices such as advertising or providing links to pornographic websites as well as online game websites' using advertisements with obscene implications will also be targeted and punished, according to a statement issued by the National Office Against Pornographic and Illegal Publications.
The office will also conduct inspections in May and September into the work of local authorities to ensure that the campaign is vigorously and properly implemented, the statement said.
It added that failure to supervise and contain the production and spread of pornography will be punished and officials guilty of dereliction of duty will be held accountable.
A reporting center under the office received 8,679 public reports within four days since the announcement of the campaign on Sunday.
