World leaders mourn death of Nobel laureate novelist

Leaders of state, writers and celebrities around the world are mourning the death of Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

US President Barack Obama said through his spokesman that "with the passing of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, the world has lost one of its greatest visionary writers, and one of my favorites from the time I was young."

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said on his social network account: "Gabo left his spiritual print in the New Era of our America, one hundred years of love to his eternal spirit."

Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez expressed his deep grief on the Internet, calling Garcia Marquez's death "a loss of a great son for Latin America and Colombia."
