The Act 3 race of the ISAF Extreme Sailing Series will be held in east China's coastal city Qingdao from May 1 to 4, according to organizers on Tuesday.
The race attracted 12 yacht teams from 10 countries and regions. More than 70 sailors will compete, and 13 of them are Olympic gold medalists, said the officials.
There will be six games in each day and the race time is from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.. The race time is subject to change in accordance to the weather condition, said the officials.
Before coming to Qingdao, the Extreme Sailing Series had already been held in Singapore, Muscat of Oman, and will visit Russia, England, Turkey and Australia after the stop in China.
Qingdao is the venue of sailing events of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and has held top sailing events, such as Volvo Ocean Race, Clipper Round the World Race and America's Cup, since the Games.
This is the fourth time that The ISAF Extreme Sailing Series visited Qingdao, and China has a representative yacht team, Extreme Qingdao, in the 2014 event.
The ISAF Extreme Sailing Series, launched in 2007, was listed as one of the top four events of the ISAF.
