A brassiere connoisseur in Hainan Province has opened up a bra museum in his home that now sees up to 100 visitors a day, Nanguo Dushibao reported on Thursday.
Chen Qingzu of Yacheng town, Sanya, explained that over the past 20 years, he has collected more than 5,000 bras from students hailing from over 30 Chinese provinces.
There was no information of how Chen, who appears to be middle aged, obtained the bras.
Chen said he decided to share his unbridled passion for negligee in order to "promote a better understanding of breast health and the importance of wearing bras."
Chen's collection won praise from local doctors and nurses for his contributions to promoting mammary health, said the report.
"My girls are more concerned about the way a bra looks more than its comfort," said one woman who visited the museum with her two daughters, both in their 20s. "This is an opportunity to show them the importance of wearing bras that fit best."
However, some Net users expressed some strong opinions about the motivations behind the museum filled with bras from students.
The museum's curator was accused of being a "pervert" more than once online.
Chen dreams of collecting 10,000 bras to open a proper museum - to better promote breast health awareness, of course.
