Xinyu Intermediate People's Procuratorate in Jiangxi province has initiated a public prosecution against three men who are charged with producing more than 210,000 fake coins, local news website jxnews.com.cn reported.
Prosecutors said Huang Xiaowei (not his real name), who has been imprisoned twice before, worked with two other former inmates Li Dongping and Ma Xiaojun to establish an underground workshop in a remote village in Xinyu's Fenyi county in March 2012.
The three were found to have counterfeited a large number of coins, with a face value of 1 yuan, when police busted their production base in a special raid in May 2013.
