A railway inspector was hit by a train Sunday morning and killed at the scene, a railway company in south China's Shenzhen city said, blaming the accident on a staff safety violation.
According to Shenzhen Pingnan Railway Co., Ltd., train No.1203 traveling from Xinyang City in central China's Henan Province to Shenzhen West Station was arriving in Shenzhen at 9:26 a.m. when it hit the inspector, Xiao Yonghua, who was in violation of safety regulations by failing to maintain a safe distance from the track.
Further investigation into the case is under way.
