The 21st BeSeTo Theater Festival will be held on May 9-14 in Xiamen, Fujian province.
The festival will have an opening ceremony, concerts and events, including symposiums and forums about the theater, for international industry figures.
Nine dramas will be staged during the festival, with five from China, two from South Korea and two from Japan.
Initially launched in 1994 by China, South Korea and Japan, the BeSeTo, which stands for Beijing, Seoul and Tokyo, was held in the three countries in turns, aiming to deepen cultural exchanges among the three Asian nations.
As this year's event is held in Fujian province, Gaojia opera, a traditional Chinese opera popular in southern Fujian province, will be performed for the first time in the festival's history.
