100 days to Nanjing Youth Olympic Games

We have reached the 100 day countdown to the start of the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games, which will be the second Youth Olympiad to be held. The Organizing Committee for the event updated their progress on Thursday and are pleased with how work is progressing.

It hasn't been the most difficult of construction tasks for the committee, however. Of the 34 venues that will be utilized, only one is completely new. Over 3,800 athletes from 204 countries and regions will gather in Nanjing for the Youth Olympics with the host nation sending a delegation of 123 athletes to compete in 110 events across all 28 sports which will include the new Olympic sports of Rugby 7's and golf.

The Organizing Committee is also pledging to spend less on these games...than Singapore did for the inaugural Youth Olympics.
