Govt bans fireworks during CICA Summit

The Shanghai municipal government will ban the sale and use of large fireworks in the city until midnight on May 22 to ensure public safety during the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) Summit, the government announced Sunday.

The government will also implement controls on the transportation of guns, explosives and two other kinds of the dangerous cargo until midnight on May 22.

The CICA Summit will be held in Shanghai from May 20 to 21.
